History
Ran Fujimiya was the older of two children. His father worked at a bank, and his mother was a stay at home wife. Ran was a nose-to-the-grindstone kind of guy. He helped out around the house, and his only real friend was his little sister, Aya. She meant the world to him, and he wanted to see all of her dreams come true. He worked part time jobs while going to school to help save money for her to go to a music school. He always had a head for money and saving. She would bring him lunches and tell him not to over work himself, which he told her to stop worrying about him every time. On her sixteenth birthday, he wanted to make her day extra special. His parents were going to make her a special dinner that night, so he told her to put on her favorite yukuta and go out for the day. She was thrilled, and they spent the entire day together. They came across a festival. Aya caught a little goldfish at one of the booths, and Ran tried not to laugh at how long it took. They came across a jewelry booth, where Aya fell in-love with a pair of earrings. They were long, thin, golden danglers, and Ran frowned at the price. She really wanted them though, and she rarely asked for special things. He caved, and she thanked him, asking to go home now. It was late, so he agreed.

When they got home, all the lights were out. Ran had a bad feeling, but Aya walked in without a thought. Before he could check the house, he heard Aya scream from the kitchen. He ran to her, finding his parents dead. They’d been shot in the head. There was a hissing sound, alerting him to the gas. He pushed Aya out of the room, telling her to get out of the house. She managed to get out of the door just as an explosion destroyed most of the house, trapping Ran in the doorway. He was buried up to his mid back in rubble, so he told Aya to get help. She had been thrown out into the street by the blast. She was so terrified that all she could do was turn around to look at him with tears in her eyes. As he tried to calm her, he heard a car speeding up. It was a black limousine, and it ran right into the frightened girl. Ran watched in horror as she rolled over the top of the car and fell to the pavement, motionless. He could not speak. How could this happen? Just as he was about to scream, he saw someone approach the limousine. A man yelled at the passenger in the back seat, calling him Takatori. The window lowered, revealing a face Aya would never forget. Soon after, Aya’s throbbing head forced him to lose consciousness.

When he awoke, he learned that Aya was alive, but she was in a deep coma. He left his hospital room to go to her bedside. He sat there for hours, racking his mind for a solution to what he could possibly do now. Their parents were gone, Aya was completely dependent on him now, and there was no way he could support her bills on his part-time job. Taking her hand in his, he told her he would think of something and not to worry about him. The man that had run up to the limousine came in to speak to Ran. He apologized for the loss he had suffered, saying he had arrived too late. Ran did not trust him at first, but the man offered him a proposition to both help pay for his sister’s care and get avenge his family. Ran thought for perhaps a minute about the offer before asking what he had to do. He agreed to become an assassin, taking money for murder. His cover would be a florist, so he had to leave his life as he knew it. Ran agreed, asking to be left with his sister for a moment. The man agreed, but before leaving, he handed Ran a bag, saying it had been on his sister’s person. It was the earrings. Sitting down beside Aya’s bedside, Ran stared at the jewelry. He told Aya that he was going to fix everything, so when she awoke, everything would be fine. Taking one of the earrings, he placed it in her hand, closing her limp hand around it. The other, he pierced through his left ear, saying he would take care of her name for her until she woke up. He then walked out to leave with the man.

Personality
Ran was once a cheerful, young man, living in a happy home all his life. He wore a smile with ease, and he had a cool, even head on his shoulders. His little sister, Aya, was his closest friend, and he worked hard to make sure she was always smiling. However, after seeing his murdered parents and Aya plowed over by a limousine, he became withdrawn and cold toward people. In pursuit of revenge, he gave up his name to carry Aya's to become someone able to kill the man he saw take his peaceful life away. As an assassin, he was fueled by anger and hatred, sacrificing his peace of mind and conscious to become Weiß.

After his family had been avenged and his sister awakened from her coma, Aya could not return to being Ran. Seeing the darkest side of humanity and the broken lives torn apart by it, he fines it almost impossible to escape his life as a vigilante. He cannot idly stand by and watch innocence crushed. He wants to protect the innocent as he feels he is one of few that truly can. The thin strip of humanity he has left is what little peace he holds to, and he pours it into his creative outlet, flowers. It is through this that he feels human still, even if he is a harsh judge even to himself. As a young adult, he is to the point and despises frivolous nonsense. A man of few words, he wishes the rest of the world would follow suit.

As much as he pushes people away, he looks out for the few he manages to form bonds with. The lingering desires of his youth keep his little faith in mankind alive. Although he is still young, he feels aged well beyond the years he has lived. The blood he sees stained on his hands brings him nothing but sadness, for now that his goal is achieved, his hindsight haunts him of his hasty choice to turn to killing. He does not regret the evil he has purged, only the foolishness to not think of what the consequences held: The only family he has left, he can never look in the eye again, and the peace of mind lost, knowing that just as he has killed he can also be. He is hardly ever seen with a smile because of the serious weight on his shoulders, but when one finds its way to his lips, it is normally a sad one.
